Fiber to The Home for MOI

Date: June 2010 to August 2010

Summary:

This Page is the Scope of Work of Barkotel Communications proposal to fulfill the requirements of Ministry of Interior RFQ for Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) System, associated with Panorama Management System to serve 32 end users.
Barkotel solution based on Tellabs 1150 Multiservice Access Platform, 1600-704 Desktop GPON ONT, and their Panorama Integrated Network Manager (INM) Systems.

The Tellabs 1150/1134 OLTs have the ability to support multiple services through the GPON Technology and to take advantage of this capability to provide a smooth upgrade path from existing to next-generation services, in part through their support for legacy traffic in its native format (i.e., TDM) as well as native IP traffic.

The Tellabs 1150/1134 OLTs support the following emerging and legacy voice, video, high-speed data, and business services.

• Voice — Both Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and POTS telephone services.

• Video — Video on Demand (VoD), Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), and Radio Frequency (RF) video overlay with one-way and two-way transmission through RF over Glass (RFoG).

• High-speed data services — Standard Layer 2 enterprise networking that furnishes high-speed data access via 100Base-T and 1000Base-T Ethernet connections at the ONT.
Installing an end-to-end optical network and using GPON technology in the access layer enables Layer 2 data networking and simultaneous support for VoIP and POTS services over the same fiber all the way from the OLT to the ONT, for a maximum distance of 20 Km. Thus GPON eliminates the need for a copper infrastructure in new implementations, potentially saving millions of dollars due to reduction or elimination of copper infrastructure.

TELLABS 1100 MULTI ACCESS PLATFORM (OLT)

GPON access reqiurements have been design using Tellabs 1100 Multiservice Access Platform, an industry-leading suite of access products that converges, voice, video and data traffic onto a single network infrastructure. Tellabs 1100 Access Platform With over 1 million lines connected, the platform serves more end users than any other.

TELLABS 1150 MULTISERVICE ACCESS PLATFORM PRODUCT OVERVIEW:

The Tellabs 1150 MSAP is a high-density access platform designed to help service providers stay ahead of the technology curve and support competitive offerings to consumer and business customers. Focused on Deep Fiber Solutions service delivery, the Tellabs 1150 MSAP features an IP/Ethernet architecture that supports optimized, non-blocking, scalable service delivery:

• Native Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based VoIP.
• High-speed Internet.
• Business data (transparent LAN services).
• Video, including IPTV, RF video and Video on Demand (VoD).
• High-bandwidth communications and entertainment services.

Designed to support high-capacity FTTP, FTTN and FTTC deployments via a powerful non-blocking architecture, the Tellabs 1150 MSAP is a forward-looking access solution that can be deployed at cost parity to traditional copper networks. The Tellabs 1150 MSAP leverages the practically limitless capacity of fiber optic cable to help support extremely high-speed broadband networks over very short copper connections or a complete end-to-end fiber architecture.

The Tellabs 1150 MSAP offers a total solution for high-density applications and supports migration to an all IP/Ethernet access and all-fiber access network for both existing infrastructures and greenfield deployments:

The Ethernet Switching Unit (ESU) provides multi-Gigabit Ethernet switching capability to the Tellabs 1100 Multiservice Access Platform (MSAP) Series. Acting as the central switch fabric, the ESU module contains a non-blocking, wire-speed IP/Ethernet switching engine.

With two ESU modules per MSAP in a primary and secondary configuration, Ethernet Link Aggregation is used to load-balance both modules and effectively double the processing capacity of the system.

1600-704 DESKTOP GPON ONT

Designed to deliver powerful business services to end users in Fiber to- the-Desktop (FTTD) applications, the Tellabs 1600-704 Desktop GPON Optical Network Terminal (ONT) incorporates multiple Ethernet and POTS ports in one compact, cost-efficient package.
Equipped with ITU-T G.984-compliant 2.5 Gbps downstream and 1.25 Gbps upstream GPON interfaces, the Tellabs 1600-704 Desktop GPON ONT supports the full range of advanced services including voice, video and High-Speed Internet.

Product Overview:

Data:
• Four 10/100 Base-T Fast Ethernet data interfaces support:
• Auto-negotiation and MDI/MDIX auto-sensing
• VLAN trunking, classification and filtering.

Voice:
• Two POTS interface ports for carrier-grade voice services support:
• SIP (RFC3261)

VoIP:
To enable VoIP access, the Tellabs 1600-704 Desktop GPON ONT also supports interfacing external IAD box or home router with voice capability through the Gigabit Ethernet Interface.

Video (Require IPTV system or VOD system - out of current scope)

The Tellabs 1600-704 Desktop GPON ONT supports video content delivered in the form of Ethernet/IP data (by multicast or unicast).
Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) transparent snooping, combined with multicast replication, results in highly efficient delivery of IP video services directly to end user desktops.
